How We Work
We believe that our key to success are our employees, for which we are dedicated to having a safe and encouraging workplace underpinned by mutual trust and respect toward and among employees.
We promote excellence in our operations by investing in the professional development of our team through training programs that support digital upskilling, cultural awareness, and effective performance management, helping employees strengthen their capabilities and contribute to the Company’s long-term success.
We conduct business activities responsibly, efficiently, transparently, and with integrity toward stakeholders. This includes our commitment to respecting and promoting human rights and safe working conditions. Our Code of Conduct requires all employees to act with honesty and integrity, fostering a business environment that protects the rights and interests of all stakeholders. We strive to create positive social development impacts for the communities where we operate and serve as providers of local employment opportunities.
Human Rights, Diversity and Inclusion
Bringing together 2,274 individuals from 42 different nationalities, and of various backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, and ages, we believe in the power of diversity,
Our Human Rights Policy ensures that any human rights issues in our operations and supply chain are addressed. Our Whistleblower Mechanisms allow employees and business partners to report any misconduct or violation of our Codes through an anonymous reporting hotline.
In 2024 we carried out a voluntary human rights assessment to evaluate the maturity of our current human rights due diligence processes against international standards and identify areas for improvement. To ensure equity in employment, our Diversity and Inclusion program covers recruitment, retention, and promotion. We use internal benchmarks, de-biasing training, sponsorship initiatives, mentorship programs, and employee networks. In traditionally male-dominated fields, we actively enhance gender diversity in both technical and non-technical roles.
Health and Safety
We prioritize the health and safety of our employees and contractors, recognizing their importance to our business’s sustained growth and the best interests of our stakeholders. 100% of our production plants are cerified ISO 45001 and ISO 9001, demonstrating the group commitment to achieving excellence in HSE performance across all business and operational areas.
Our HSE management system clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of each employee, addressing various aspects such as occupational health, adverse occupational exposures, and environmental events. During 2025, the site leadership teams’ visits improved in terms of frequency and subject matter, adding the safety check lists based on life-saving rules and process safety fundamentals. In 2025, emergency preparedness across all facilities was strengthened through regular training and testing of onsite emergency response teams, supported by updated emergency response plans aligned with identified Major Accident Scenarios. Additionally, several trainings were carried out both at OpCo and HQ, as part of the HSE Awareness Sessions, including: trainings on PPE, Manual Handling, Dealing with the high temperature characteristics, Elements of Environmental Protection, Basic First aid and firefighting.
In 2025, the organization continued advancing its digital HSE ecosystem through targeted enhancements designed to elevate safety performance, streamline critical processes and improve real-time visibility across operations.
We are proud of our track record on safety, resulting in metrics well below the fertilizer industry average and commend our employees and contractors whose diligent efforts have supported progress in nearly every injury indicator on which we report.
Community Engagement
At Fertiglobe, our commitment extends beyond traditional corporate responsibility, with a strong focus on education and youth development in the communities where we operate. In 2025, we engaged 302 students through internship and apprenticeship programs across the UAE, Algeria, and Egypt.
Our employees support local communities through volunteering, fundraising, and mentorship. In the UAE, Fertil provided hands-on technical learning opportunities for students and graduates. In Egypt, Fertiglobe completed its first Graduate Program in August 2025, while in Algeria 40 long-term apprentices were trained by Sorfert’s master apprentices across multiple disciplines.
